MMSP-CP103 CAS-ANS IEC at 4 Barangays in Quezon City

Quezon City, November 2024 – As the construction of Metro Manila Subway Project (MMSP) progresses, Sumitomo Mitsui Construction Co., Ltd. (SMCC), together with the Department of Transportation (DOTr), has successfully delivered a series of Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) campaigns with the officials of four (4) barangays in Project 4, Quezon City, namely:

  1. Brgy. Bagumbuhay
  2. Brgy. Milagrosa
  3. Brgy. Villa Maria Clara
  4. Brgy. Bayanihan

Since the subway tunnel lines between Anonas Station and Camp Aguinaldo Station will be traversing through these barangays, it is essential to provide information and awareness to its stakeholders about the MMSP and its tunneling works. Discussions among the participants were meaningful as curiosity sparked the minds of the councils who are eager to understand the procedures, methodologies and activities related to the construction of the first subway project of the country.

SMCC and DOTr sought the assistance of the barangay councils as their next aim is to organize IEC campaigns to the residents to further spread awareness and understand the overview and activities of the project. All the barangay councils expresses their full support and cooperation to the project and all of its future activities, emphasizing the importance of being public servants, especially contributing to the success of nation building.
