In cooperation with the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR), the Metro Manila Subway Project – Contract Package 103 (MMSP-CP103), which comprises of the Department of Transportation (DOTr), Oriental Consultant Global-Joint Venture (OCG-JV), and Sumitomo Mitsui Construction Co. (SMCC), along with its partner Vitex Forestry Support Services (VFSS), held the Tree-planting activity at the La Mesa Watershed Reservation on June 27, 2026.
A total of 1,260 seedlings were planted which consists of diverse native species, namely Antipolo, Anubing, Bignay, Tuai, Dipterocarp species, and Dao.

The La Mesa Watershed Reservation has been identified as the planting site to help support the hydrologic cycle, contribute to the reduction of the greenhouse gases in the Metro Manila, and provide an aid to soil stability. Furthermore, the planting of native seedling species will also support the existing ecological biodiversity in the area.
To ensure the survival of the planted seedlings, proper care and maintenance for three (3) years will be initiated by MMSP-CP103. The maintenance involves a series of activities such as, but not limited to ring weeding, application of organic fertilizer, and fire protection.

Along with the progress of the Metro Manila Subway Project (MMSP) the project proponents support the environmental management by participating in the MMSP-CP103 Tree Planting Activity. Beyond project requirement and regulatory compliance, the participants are grateful to be part of contributing to a cleaner and greener environment.
